  About the ESF FabricMagic Kit

  FabricMagic sets the color in your fabric once used with our ESF Colorants and water.

  Use the mix to

• dye your signature color on white fabric
  

• overdying old fabric to give a fresh new look (See examples to the right)
  

  

  Fabric Prep:

  Wash and dry fabric; if the fabric is new, this removes any sizing.

NOTE: Because of the lanolin raw wool needs to be cleaned with a degreasing detergent first, or                      boiled or a combination before dying.

  Dying Process:

  NOTE: Generation Green Colorants are condensed, use sparingly – it’s easier to add a drop or two              to obtain your desired result.

• Mix 4 parts water to 1 part FabricMagic. Depending on desired intensity, add to the FabricMagic, 1, 2 OR more drops of Generation Green Colorant into your water/FabricMagic mix (you may use a plastic baggie to mix your color)
  

• Saturate fabric into mixture and squeeze out extra liquid
  

• Lay flat; let dry.
  

  Multiple Colors:

• Dip fabric into several dyes at the same time or dip one color at a time
  

• Let dry between colors
  

• When you have achieved your desired design, press with a hot dry iron.
  

• For best results do not use steam
  

  Variations:

• Tie dye - use multiple colors
  

• Bunch fabric and secure with rubber bands for   “flower” appearance
  

• Use NO VOC Wax as a resist
  

• Add designs with stencils; use NO VOC Wax as resist for dye as first step or for multiple-layer dying
  

• Use fan brush for fine lines to create a crackling effect
  

• Add Generation Green Colorant as a color resist
  

• Stamp image onto fabric using Generation Green Colorant
  

• Paint onto dyed fabric using NO VOC Acrylic Paints
  

• Paint as a watercolor onto fabric with Generation Green Colorant
