Shimmer Opaque is a rich, vibrant, bold, strong, opaque pearlescent gel medium. It is based on the powerful patterns and colors of Italian textile manufacturer, Marino Fortuny.

Shimmer Opaque can be painted, stenciled, rubbed, sponged, fauxed or troweled on clothing, fabric, wood, walls, canvas, gourds, any surface. Very easy to use, Shimmer Opaque gives a shimmer and vibrancy to any canvas, clothing, or work of art.

The White Shimmer Opaque can have any of the colors of Colorant added to it to give endless possibilities of color.

Shimmer Opaque can be applied to clothing by brushing or stenciling it on. It will not wash off. Add a little glitter over the paint to give it more pizzazz. When sponged lightly on gourds it can give a faux Raku look. Paint or sponge on the bottoms of plates so the vibrancy shows through and the plate is totally food safe.

The Gold Shimmer Opaque may be used to create a faux gold leaf. Brush on the Gold Shimmer, let dry and then go over it with any Colorant to achieve the beautiful variegated gold leaf look.

We suggest that Shimmer Opaque be protected with one of our high quality varnishes for the best durability.

If more working time is desired, add a little of Generation Green Extender for slower drying.

Glaze is defined as a translucent medium applied to a surface to give a texture, color and depth to it. It is

fun and exciting to use as you can create fabulous pieces of art by “layering” the glazes over each other.

Generation Green Shimmer Translucent achieves a sophisticated shimmer of metallic by applying it to

walls, furniture, woodwork, wood, metal and craft projects. Use also on gourds and can vases.

Shimmer Transparent may be used to enhance projects and surfaces with ease. Versatile and easy to

use for an Old World look or a modern metallic Deco effect. Use one color or several colors for an

interesting shimmer effect. Make all the surface “pop” or just highlight by enhancing edges or raised parts

or deep crevices. For a stronger look Generation Green Colorants can be added to the Shimmer

Translucent .

This clear, thick, workable glaze can be used on any surface. It adds texture to and keeps texture on the

surface, even after drying. Shimmer Translucent can be used as a clear glaze over an existing basecoat

or you may add paint or colorant to make your own color using Generation Green Colorants. Great on

vertical surfaces as it does not run or sag. Use with sponges, plastic bags, brushes, rags, paper, tissue paper, stencils, kitchen utensils for different effects. Generation Green Shimmer Translucent holds stamping imprints. If texture is not desired, simply soften with a soft cloth.

When desired effect is achieved, let dry and protect with one of Generation Green Varnishes.

Directions for Use:

Use brush, bristle brush, foam brush, pallet knife, sponge to apply Shimmer Opaque to surface. May mix colors together for a marbled look. When applying to glass, work on underside so Shimmer Opaque can show through the glass. This way, if serving food, painted surface will be protected.

Directions for Use:

Apply with a brush, sponge, finger or any type of utensil desired. Start out with a light coat until you achieve the look you want. May add 10% water to thin for a less textured look or may just soften with a soft cloth or brush. Although there is adequate time to “play” with the Shimmer Translucent, it is best to work as quickly as possible. Protect this beautiful metallic look with one of Generation Green Varnishes.
